TASKI founder Alfred Sutter

What does the name TASKI mean?

Alfred Sutter, our founder, drew inspiration from those closest to him:

The “T” is for Tenzing, his close friend and Sherpa, with whom he embarked on countless adventures in the majestic mountains of Switzerland and beyond.

The “AS” represents his initials.

The “K,” honouring Krauss, his wife’s maiden name.

The “I” embodies his vision of Innovation, Inspiration, Ingenuity, and Intelligence.

Before TASKI 1858 to 1955

In 1858, Swiss entrepreneur Adolf Sutter-Krauss founded a company to make apple vinegar in the summer and shoe polish in the off-season.
The Sutter family maintained stewardship throughout the remainder of this period as the company was run in succession by Adolf, Arthur and Alfred Sutter during the first half of the 20th century.
In 1955, TASKI was established with the creation of a business department focused solely on bulk consumers and corporate customers.

It is the first division of its kind in Europe.

TASKI Has Landed (1955 to 1970)

The 60s marked a significant historical period, witnessing remarkable technological advances transforming public and private life.

Embracing the technological wave of the 1960s, the newly established TASKI R&D team played a pivotal role in developing the WEGA 40, a dual-speed single-disc cleaning machine, further solidifying TASKI’s position in the industry.

Responding to the market’s demand, TASKI expanded its machine offering to include wet and dry vacuum options for textile floors, culminating in the TASKI Wet-and-Dry Vac III.

By the end of the decade, the new TASKI training centre meant that traditional janitorial staff and businesses could receive maximum value from machines operated by their TASKI-trained experts.

1955

Alfred Sutter establishes the TASKI brand, introducing a strong focus on floor cleaning for professional customers.

1960

The initial formation of the TASKI R&D department marks a turning point: cleaning becomes professional, with constant innovation and anticipation of customer needs.

1962

The launch of WEGA 40, a single-disc machine with dual speeds, established the multi-purpose Wega series as the face of the industry for many years to come.

1966

Founding of the TASKI Training Centre, a facility dedicated to elevating cleaning through best practices and machines for customers and employees.

Innovation and Beyond (1970 to 1980)

The 1970s saw technology evolve into the digital age, and TASKI continued to innovate to improve its offering to meet the needs of the new decade.

The new combimat 42, a groundbreaking development, brought scrubbing machines to a broader audience and even included a market first, the removable 10L solution tank.

It was also the first TASKI scrubber-drier to be developed and produced in Münchwilen,  which remains the TASKI HQ.

As the decade continued, TASKI introduced the aquamat 40. This extraction machine brought a new standard for carpet cleaning with its highly effective and efficient rotating brush approach.

1972

TASKI introduces the first scrubber drier – combimat 42 with a new concept of a removable solution tank.

1978

TASKI completes their new logistic centre supporting global expansion.

Microprocessors, Macro Cleaning (1980 to 1990)

The 1980s saw the development of digital technologies and the industrial impact of product manufacturing on the ecology.

TASKI continued to innovate while also doing so in a responsible way.

TASKI created the world’s first cleaning machine controlled by a microprocessor, the combimat 2000.

The TASKI ergodisc range represented another industry first. It provides industrial cleaning power and ergonomic design, reducing fatigue and other associated conditions.

1983

TASKI bora and TASKI hurricane – portfolio expansion into the vacuum segment with a wide range of upright and tub vacuums.

1984

We reached a milestone of training 20,000 customers at our Training Centre in Münchwilen.

1985

TASKI launched the first scrubber containing a microprocessor, the combimat 2000, and implemented water flow management.

1988

The acclaimed TASKI ergodisc range won the Innovation Award at Interclean 1988 for its industrial-strength cleaning delivered in a cleaner-friendly, ergonomic way.

The Information Age (1990 to 2000)

In the era of digitisation of information and communications, TASKI focused on improving the battery power of smaller machines and freeing operators from cables.

This approach resulted in the smallest battery-powered scrubber-drier, the combimat 600, and the first ride-on cleaning machine, the combimat 4000.

The patented CSD system, known today as IntelliFlow, uses the latest sensor and digital technology to improve water consumption within machines, optimising usage and costs and improving sustainability.

In 1993, the radical new system TASKI Oekoscope allowed the rating of the environmental compatibility of cleaning products and systems.

1990

Why walk when you can ride? TASKI launched the first ride-on cleaning machine, combimat 4000. The combimat 600, the smallest battery-powered scrubber drier, also became available on the market, revolutionising battery power and enabling cable-free cleaning.

1992

The patented CSD system, or IntelliFlow, forever changes the efficiency of cleaning operations.

1993

TASKI incorporates Oekoscope, a computer-based evaluation system that rates the environmental compatibility of cleaning products and systems.

The TASKI Half Century (2000 to 2010)

The new millennium focused on technology consolidation, from the Internet to email to the first hybrid fuel cars.

The new swingo 2500/3500 ride-on scrubber models impressed with their combination of advanced technologies, elegant design, and a simple interface, winning the Interclean 2000 Innovation Award.

2006 the new swingo XP, a new category of stand-on scrubber-drier machines, was launched.

2000

TASKI captured another Interclean Innovation Award—this time for the revolutionary new swingo 2500/3500, a world’s first ride-on machine range, with advanced technology, design, and simplicity of use.

2006

TASKI debuts another world first, this time the first stand-on scrubber drier, the XP.

Futuristic Cleaning (2010 to 2020)

In the 2010s, technological connectivity and functionality  continued to develop.

The latest development of this business pillar was IntelliTrail, a GPS for monitoring machines from the fleet to the individual unit.

TASKI acquired Intellibot Robotics. This move ensured the needed funding and support for Intellibot as it was integrated into the TASKI infrastructure, and the influx of expertise gave TASKI a head start in creating the ULTIMATE cleaning robots that would form the next age of cleaning machines.

The SWINGOBOT 2000 came to market just two years later, leading the field and ushering in the start of an age where cleaning tools no longer had to be hand-operated.

2010

The swingo range expands further as TASI introduces new walk-behind models.

2015

TASKI introduces IntelliTrail, the first fleet tracking system with GPS tracking. By 2022, over 15,000 connected machines were operating in the market.

2016

TASKI acquires Intellibot Robotics USA and integrates it completely into TASKI.

2017

TASKI launches the new AERO vacuum cleaner family with a first-in-market whisper-quiet patent.

2017

Diversey acquired Twister, a revolutionary floor cleaning diamond technology, and became the only company on the market to offer an integrated cleaning solution (TASKI machine + Twister pad + TASKI chemical). TASKI is now the only brand producing machines with an integrated Twister button.
